1. Who we are
The Raindrop platform is operated by Dalilah-Rain Freedman(“Raindrop”, “we”, “us”). For personal data you submit to the Service, Raindrop acts as the data controller. For data you upload about your families, decedents, and staff, Raindrop acts as a processor on your behalf as the funeral home or organization.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email, role, login credentials.
- Case and family data — decedent information, certificate fields, family contacts, custom requests, that you submit to the Service.
- Operational data — accounting entries, payroll, PTO, staff scheduling, supply orders.
- Support data — messages you send us and related context.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps, error logs.
3. Why we use it
- To create accounts, authenticate users, and provide the Service.
- To route certificates between physicians, town clerks, and funeral homes.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To improve product quality, reliability, and performance.
- To provide customer support.
- To send essential service notices, and (with consent or as permitted by law) product updates.
4. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of contract performance (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), legal obligation, and — where required — consent.
5. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, analytics, and customer support tooling used to run the Service.
- Merchant of Record (Paddle) — we use Paddle.com as Merchant of Record for the sale of subscriptions, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing. Paddle’s handling of your payment data is governed by Paddle’s own privacy notice.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and similar professionals where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to meet legal, accounting, and operational requirements. Case and certificate records may be retained for statutory periods required by the jurisdiction in which the funeral home operates. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
